- Students that are identified as high ability in language arts may be placed in advanced language arts and/or advanced reading classes.
- Students that are identified as high ability in mathematics will be placed in the appropriate math module as determined by their completion of the Module Placement Exam. Students will advance to the next module upon earning a grade of 80% or higher in their current module. If an individual student exhibits a need for acceleration in one or more modules, curriculum compacting or a program of independent study may be implemented at the discretion of the math department, administration, or REACH coordinator. Upon satisfactory achievement on the designated state mandated exam at the end of the Algebra I course, students will receive high school credit and their RCMS Algebra I grade will be transferred to their RCHS high school transcript. Should a student complete the entire module program and successfully complete the ECA, coordinating course work with the high school may be requested (or provided).
- Many academic-enrichment opportunities are offered such as the Science Olympiad, Geography Bee, Art club, and Choral/Instrumental competitions.

- The parents may complete an appeals form and submit it to the principal within 14 days of receiving their placement letter. (The appeals form asks parents for additional information as to why their child should be reconsidered for official identification.)
- The results of all data collected by the school and the parent/guardian will be reviewed by the appeals committee who will make final determination in the identification of the child.
