Advanced Reading and Language Arts
Students that are identified as high ability in language arts may be placed in advanced language arts and reading classes or a high ability cluster within the general classroom.
The advanced reading and language arts classes will be differentiated in content, pace, and complexity.

Advanced Mathematics

Mathematics curriculum is accelerated at least one year.  Algebra is offered in 7th and 8th grade for high ability students.  Geometry is offered in 8th grade for those students who have accelerated, scored in the 95th PR or higher on achievement and ability assessments, and successfully passed the Algebra I ECA.

Upon satisfactory achievement on the designated state mandated exam at the end of the Algebra I course, students will receive high school credit and their RCMS Algebra I grade will be transferred to their high school transcript.

Enrichment
Academic-enrichment opportunities, such as the Science Olympiad, Geography Bee, Art club, and Choral/Instrumental competitions, are offered.
